Song Review: 'Space' (Stripped Down)' By Ryland Fisher

A wide-open, empty landscape is conjured up on Ryland Fisher’s “Space (Stripped Down)”. The melancholic confidence that radiates throughout this version breathes new life into this song, originally released on Ryland’s first album. With pure fire and passion, it proves to be outright life-affirming. Everything about it has a sense of majesty and wonder, in the context of ‘moving on.’ Folk, country, rock-  all of these are referenced yet his style has its own distinct affect to it. Vocals soar and work to emphasize the endless possibility that arises out of such vastness. Pacing matters quite a bit for the song takes its time to evolve, becoming something that truly consumes the listener whole.
